Anubis Gets Face Lift!

It's funny to think that with so many film projects in line with the studio, that David Q has found time to write and illustrate a new ashcan, but he has!

This Spring, David and Prof. Bill Foster are preparing to release a new Anubus ashcan for the May 2008 Black Age of Comics Convention in Philadelphia. David has stated that the new ashcan will reveal some new information about the characters historical background.

The format will remain the same as the first ashcan, with finished ink work alligned with grey tones and some pencil work. David said that you will also see a detailed full page spread with a possible FULL color poster.

David does not plan on posting sneak peak illustrations on the website.

More news to follow.

New "ONE" Colorwork Poster Raises Eyebrows

The website recently posted a new color works poster ad for the ONE series. The poster has had an effect on some fans as the poster displays an action scene of a character from "ONE" wearing a colorful kimono and white panties.

The new posting is both a masterpiece and a little alarming; as the character is presented in the graphic novel as an "out-of-place" teenager sent in to do a man's job. "There are several under-age female characters that will appear in the graphic novel" said David Q, "In comic books it's common to see a young character in a provocative posed position. I am not sure what the deal is, but if anyone is offended by the work, that was not my intention."

The poster has been an insert to the ONE ashcan which has been displayed and sold during the studios Convention Tour this year. David mentioned that most of the good reviews have been from the youth, but that some older parents have made comments about the characters panties. "At conventions, you never know what your gonna get when it comes to comments on your artwork" added David, "I guess if most of the youth who have purchased the ashcan had issues with it, I'd change the illustration. But since the sales have been steady and successful, I will leave it that everyone has an opinion."

David mentioned that the graphic posted on the web page will not be removed. But that the illustration cover work for ONE on the art site will change from time to time; adding a fresher experience to the online comic strip.

More news to follow on this, I am sure.

David Sets Sights On Big Apple Con!

David made mention on his personal blog that an open invitation was forwarded to him and that he will be attending the NYC Big Apple Con again this year!

"It's great to be asked to come back after last years success!" David stated, "The staff really put on a good show last year and I want to do my best to help them make this years Big Apple Con a better, more successful convention than last years."

David attended his first Big Apple Con with Professor William (Bill) Foster last year. The duo had success building a good repertoire with the convention staff, and more importantly, built a small but dedicated fan base. "I was really looking forward to returning to the Big Apple Con this year" David said excitedly.

More information about the event and table location for David and Professor Foster will be posted soon!

Star Trek Elite Force Ends Series Run...More Scripts To Follow Later!

Star Trek Elite Force (STEF) made its mark after running enough continuous scripts for three seasons. The series has won 7 consecutive awards for "Best Active Fan Fiction Story" on the web.

David was very proud of the work, which took over six months to write and complete for his fans. Most of his current writing projects are now for the STAR TREK-BEYOND video film which is expected to go into production next week!

The studio has commissioned a command bridge (which is now completed) and has also made a casting call for a crew (which are also now filled). The series is expected to be only 5 small films, equalling a time of 15 minutes each. David is planning to show the Minotaur Class Battle Cruiser, which was also the lead class of ship in STEF, in these films.

David has changed the name of the lead vessel several times over the course of the production, but has now released that the ship's name will be the Alliance Space Vessel (ASV) PRECIPICE. Some production photos of the set and cast are planned to post by next weekend. I can honestly say that the set is impressive and that the detail is extra-ordinary.

The new Fan Fiction Series of Star Trek-Beyond is expected to post on its own website this summer; but that series has nothing to do with these five films; even though the Captain's names are the same. The name of the ship in that series is the USS ENTERPRISE NCC-1701F.

Stick around for more updates as they roll in!

Black Age of Comicbooks Convention Is Here!!! ( A Letter From David Q)

"After suffering a long week of dealing with family problems, I have finally regained my footing and I feel that things are back on the right track. I have been feeling a little lost since returning from Texas where my mother had been suffering from pneumonia. An emergency flight got me to miss out on the Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) event in New London; So, I apologise to anyone who went out of their way to see me there and thought that I may have skipped out on that gracious event.

But I have to move on from that hiccup and I have set my sights on the Black Age of Comics convention in Philadelphia. I know that I will have a great time there (and more importantly) I will still have the avenue to present a new "ONE" ashcan to some new fans there. I will also be attending the convention with Professor William Foster, my long time friend who has plenty of contacts for me there.

On the horizon, I will be attending the NYC Big Apple Con and maybe the COMICON in Hartford; if they are nice to me again this year. I will do my best to keep with the schedule this year, and the target has always been to attend the San Diego Comicon in August. So if you come out to any of those events take a good look around, you just may see me on your left!"

David Preparing For Huge Turnout at Free Comic Book Day Event!

David will be presenting new posterwork for FREE at the Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) event for those fans that stop by his table at Sarges Comics (in New London, CT) this weekend.

"I am very excited about this year" David said. "In the previous years I felt that I had a lot to prove to the fans and the store customers that came to the event. This year, I am very much relaxed and focused with the medium of work that I have to present to everyone. This is not about who has the best stuff, but what stuff we have to show to everyone."

In previous years, David illustrated and average of 250 caricatures per each event but has stated that he will not be illustrating caricatures full time. "Each of those caricatures took only a minute to do, but they were mind draining and I need to be focused for a project later in the day" he added. The Sarges Comics store owner has mentioned another caricature artist is expected to make her presence at the show.

The attendance to the event has gained strength over the years. David has mentioned that the event has a full fledged following that usually makes its presence there.

"Expect a few surprises" David added. "I will be presenting some new colorwork posters for the event that I know will blow everyones minds away!"...the down-low on the posters is that David has commissioned some prestine work with a previously mentioned artist who once contributed his talents to the ONE series.

On the film production side of the studio, it has been made public that several actors from the "Blue Haired Chronicles (BHC)" movie set will also make thier appearance in costume!

On a final note, Professor William Foster ("The Authority in Black Comics) will be present with David at the FCBD event!

I cannot wait for the surprises. I hope to see you there!

"ONE" Posts With Delight From Fans!

Just before midnight on April 26th, the tension was building as fans awaited the "Enter" link to activate. When the link went active, the number of emails began to filter in to the studio with some good reviews.

An email from Fred Hubbard (of St. Louis) reads; "Great start and some good illustrations! I was hoping to see the originally intended gray and black artwork, but the colorwork is a bonus! Can't wait to see more!"

Mary Hoskins said "Finally, a good start to what you talked about for so long! I am sure that many great surprises are in-store for me in this series. Keep up the great work!"

And Mark Swafford mentioned "That landscape is totally original! The story is flowing very smooth so far and has me fascinated with what's going on!"

In the studio, David was biting his nails as the final commands to activated the "link" were made to the site. "This is a big day for me" he said in a frenzy, "the story has been on the shelf for so long and I glad to finally get it out to the fans where the real excitement will begin to unfold."

Expect the project to take you through several twists and turns. David mentioned that the violence will take off very shortly and expect to also some extreme mature themes!

Like you, I cannot wait to see it all myself.

More news to follow soon!
